Monday
Good news comes with bad today. Alexander’s face is really healing wonderfully. The therapist said he has skin growing back with pigment so there should be no scarring if he stays out of the sun. Most of the rest of the burns are also healing without a problem.
Except the top of his shoulder. They are saying that this part of the burn is a 3rd degree burn that will require more cleaning and possibly a skin graft. On Wednesday he will go into surgery for them to remove the dead tissue and determine the extent of damage. We are praying for protection and restoration for that spot. I’ve seen miraculous healing before. Perhaps this will be one too.
His spirits are up and his smile has returned. I honestly thought it would be weeks before we saw that mischievous grin again.
How could I ever thank you all for your prayers and encouragement! I have forwarded every comment to my daughter who doesn’t blog. She is amazed at how wonderful you have all been. I will let you know how it goes on Wednesday.

Truly good and bad news. Will keep him in my prayers that his shoulder will heal on it’s own. But, I guess it could have been a lot worse. I am amazed how well he is doing the way it is.
You know, a lot of people get this condescending smile on their faces when I talk about my Xanga friends. They just do not understand what a caring bunch they are. Stanelle, who is deaf, had her whole deaf church praying for Alexander. When Nanny lost her “Knight” to cancer a week ago the outpouring of love for her from the Xanga community was amazing. I think a lot of us know more about each other than many of our friends and families do. I often think about giving up Xanga because it takes too much time. But I realize I don’t want to lose contact with them all. So, I keep reading, but maybe not commenting as much. But they know I am reading and thinking of them. That includes you, too. Of course, I have you as a “friend” elsewhere, too, don’t I? I am doubly blessed!!

I am totally blessed too. I don’t comment as often as this summer since I am a teacher and now my weeks are full. I do love catching up on my friends on the weekend. Surprisingly enough, the relationships building here are helping me with the ones nearby. May you have a great weekend!
