  • Live and let live

This idea, while a good one most of the time, can definitely be taken too far. Here is an example of too much tolerance. This nest is in the upper left corner of Nick’s  garage door at his warehouse. It probably measures close to 8 inches across.  As you see, the nest in inhabited with red wasps, a type known for their aggressive nature. His approach is, as long as they don’t sting him, they can stay.  He pulls open the door.  They all swarm around nervously while he stands very still.  When they calm down, he goes in and gets what he needs.  Then he pulls the door shut and they swarm again.  He calmly walks away.  So far, no stings. So they live in “peace” with each other. Me, I stay in the van!

  • AHhh!  I think I’ll stay away, too!  I’m terrified of wasps–one got stuck in my shirt when I was 4…

  • Wow!!! That is huge – I definitely think it is time to do some exterminating!!!

  • Every year he knocks the nest down after they go somewhere to hibernate. Every year it gets bigger!

  • This is too much. I tend to take the “be still” approach. I’m not a swatter but I’d be doing some serious business to get that nest out of my work space & keep it out. Yeow!

  • Hey, it is so interesting.  The large nest alone would be great to take to an elementary school.  (when the wasps are gone of course).  If he will clean the area with bleach, it may encourage them to make their nest elsewhere next year.

  • That is such a huge nest.  gandy is correct about the bleach…I have used it and it does work…that and gasoline, but the cost of gas is way to high to be wasting on some nest.  (By the way, I was just kidding about the gasoline!!!)  Thank you for your encouragement.  Every now and again I just feel the Lord leading me back to re tell my story.  It is just so interesting how each time I tell it I do two things I discover new healing and I leave something else “at the foot of the Cross.”

    Bless you,

    Beau<><
