  • Packing, packing, packing. Our youngest is going on a study abroad
program through the university. She leaves tomorrow for Spain.
She still hasn’t decided what bag to bring! Suitcase or backpack?
Everyone has an opinion, and they all sound good. Surprisingly, she is
leaning towards packing light with a backpack. In addition, she moved
her apartment into our house, livingroom, spare room, her room and
every spare storage space in the garage!  Wow! She had definitely
become a household, not a kid away at college. All of this tends to
catch me off-guard. How come I didn’t see this coming?  I still
think of her as a kid.  Only in a mother’s mind is 22, or even 40,
still a kid! Hello, all you kids out there!!

  • My daughter needed to move back for a short time following her divorce, and we were overwhelmed at all her “stuff”!!  She’s 34 now, and will always be my “favorite child that lived” … which is a joke, as she’s the ONLY child I ever carried full term!!

  • You should have seen my parents house while we were there, five adults and two kids should not be in that small of a space.  At least we rented a storage building for furniture and large things.

  • Our kids will be kids for the rest of my natural days!    Our oldest is 51 and youngest is 42.   Still babies to me.

Thanks for visiting my site and commenting about Corpus and the lighthouse I have pictured on the site.    That particular lighthouse is not in Texas.   The one I truly love is at Bolivar.   You can read about it here.  http://www.crystalbeach.com/light.htm

Thanks for the comment and enjoy your trip.   I wish only the best for you and your lovely family.

  • It’s so true, from my father’s angle as well that they are always kids. I’m sure your daughter will enjoy Spain, it’s very laid back or was some years ago when I was there..to do with the climate I suppose.

Thanks for your encouragement re the non-smoking, I really needed to stop for my health’s sake.

Yes, the pictures are taken with a digital camera, a surprisingly cheap one that does excellent close ups. i never got into film photography but am now a keen amateur with digital!

  • I know what you mean.  I still think of Mendy as a kid and she is 36.  Celina with only a back pack?  I am trying to imagine that.  As for her household being in your house.  I still have some of Men’s things and every time I mention moving them over to her house (which has a big empty attic) I get a funny look. Oh well.
